HousingPlus is the first organization in New York City to offer housing exclusively for chronically homeless female veterans, who often face challenges including unemployment, disability, and post-traumatic stress from their experience in service or from military sexual trauma. Learn more about female veterans here.
In 2012, we began with a transitional housing program for female veterans. From 2014 to the present, with additional HUD funding, we added two new permanent supportive housing programs for veterans, and increased the number of households to include 40 women (10 women with a total of 17 children and 30 women without children).
All veterans in our programs have access to trauma services and health and wellness counseling along with the full range of other supportive services we provide.
This program is supported by the Con Edison Foundation, the Hyde and Watson Foundation, and the Patrina Foundation.
