The Employment & Educational Support Services staff at HousingPlus, which is comprised of one Employment Coordinator and one Career Specialist, works with women and eligible youth between the ages of 15 and 23 to help them build necessary employment skills, set career goals, and secure a job that suits their strengths and provides a steady, livable income.

HousingPlus’ employment services empower women to build stable lives, and to define and realize their goals. We use an interdisciplinary team to work with each woman to develop an Individualized Service Plan that contains short and long-term objectives and realistic employment goals. Plans may include completing GED, enrolling in postsecondary education, participating in job readiness activities, job search, employment and long term job retention and career advancement opportunities. We help each tenant achieve her individual goals by providing services such as: résumé building; support around job search and job referrals; employment assessment and consultation services; and referrals to the Center for Employment Opportunities, WorkforceOne, and Black Veterans for Social Justice, among others, to help them secure priority consideration for employment.
