The HousingPlus model is based on a “housing first” approach. We connect women, gender diverse people, and families to housing without preconditions and barriers to entry.
One of our priorities in the years ahead is to increase our efforts to place clients in permanent housing. We are poised to double our permanent housing portfolio to nearly 300 units. We will do this through additional partnerships that will enable us to reach even more New Yorkers in need.
As part of this work, in 2020 HousingPlus opened 30 additional units for formerly homeless families and justice-involved women with children. This new location at Linwood Park Apartments in East New York is our first-ever collaboration with private developers with funding from the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiatives.
