Darren Martin

Darren Martin joins HousingPlus as Chief of Staff and brings a unique blend of legal, policy, and public service experience. Most recently, he served as Senior Policy Advisor and Deputy Director at the NYC Office of the Mayor’s Asylum Application Help Center, where he helped launch and lead legal clinics across the city that supported tens of thousands of asylum seekers. A graduate of CUNY School of Law, Darren has also worked with organizations including The Legal Aid Society, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and the Center for Appellate Litigation. Prior to law school, he held roles at the NYC Department of Social Services, the U.S. House of Representatives, and The White House. Originally from the Bronx, Darren is excited to bring his passion for equity and systems-level impact to the team.
